Tire Center Tread Wearing Fast, Running 36 - 37 PSI (Cold)

I was at the local park waiting for my son during his tennis lesson. After opening up the four vanity covers I decided to take a look at how the tires are wearing. They are wearing quicker in the center of the tread. The tires were just recently rotated, and the rear look worse than the front. Most of the time car is not fully loaded. It's my wife's primary car to go to work, and she goes twice a week nowadays, driving alone (single occupancy).

I'm guessing to try 32 PSI cold until it needs new tires and then maybe run 33 PSI? What do you think? (Thanks in advance).

When the tire pressures dropped to 30.5 PSI cold I got a TPMS low pressure light. Running 32 PSI now and happy with it so far.

At 32.0 PSI the center tread is still wearing thinner than the outer tread blocks. But it is not getting worse comparing outside with center. 32.0 PSI may be the sweet spot. I wish I could get an Autel TBE200 to monitor more accurately but my wife may get angry at the extra spending...

Ran 32 PSI then 31 PSI. I just dropped it down one more to 30 PSI. Gonna observe tire wear as center still looks worn more...

Been running at 30.5 PSI (Slime digital gauge) for a while now. I can see the typical sidewall bulge at the bottom where the tire contacts the road. It's a little concerning considering the low profile but I drove over 250 mi yesterday and although I saw many people with tire trouble on the side of the road nothing happened. I do check the tires before the sun comes up and heats them up, so it may be the equivalent of 31 or 32 PSI depending on when (a normal person) checks. Passed the 52k mi mark on the original tires I'm guessing will hit the worn tread indicators at around 60k....

Re: Tire Center Tread Wearing Fast, Running 36 - 37 PSI (Cold)

Got a TPMS pressures low warning light last night. Stopped at a gas station after around 5 to 10 miles, very near LAX my destination. Sadly I didn't have a pressure gauge in the under trunk storage so went into the store and across the street at the 76 to try to buy one. No luck. So I felt the tread area of each tire with the palm of my hand and they all felt around the same. I continued on my way to pick up my wife and sister-in-law at the airport then drove home around 35 mi. This morning I drag myself out of bed just before 7 am and measure the pressures with my Slime digital gauge, which measures down to 0.5 PSI. All four are exactly 31.0 PSI. I select calibrate on the MFD and drive around 25 minutes mixed highway and freeway. Shrugs....

Re: Tire Center Tread Wearing Fast, Running 36 - 37 PSI (Cold)

As of this morning around 5:30 am local time I dropped the pressures down to 29.5 PSI on a digital gauge I recently got that goes down to 0.1 PSI. Still showing center wear greater than outer and inner tread. The amount of distance between the ground and the rim looks like a concern with the original Michelin tires, which are pretty worn down at 55,678 mi (per HondaLink). I guess we'll get around 60k mi before the wear bars show time to change....
