Clarity Electric has a heat pump (but maybe resistive as a supplement?)
Fan motors are not an insignificant draw on their own, and when heating/cooling, both the cabin fan and the heat pump fan are pulling juice.
As one of those weird quirks, I often see less estimated range loss for climate control when using A/C set to an auto temp as compared to fan only (one of the options in the center display shows range with climate setting impact broken out). Haven't bothered to run actual range tests to see if it is a "guess-o-meter" glitch or A/C can indeed be more efficient than fan only (med/low setting).
