Price paid on your Clarity

Tue Mar 06, 2018 9:10 pm

Hi everyone.

I am looking into buying or leasing a Clarity (touring). Can someone tell me how much off the MSRP you received from the dealer when you bought yours?

I just got mine 2 weeks ago. They are going for MSRP up here in New England. I found one dealer who offered me less, but they couldn't give me a delivery date on one (didn't have one available). I ended up ordering mine in December, didn't arrive until mid February. I wanted a base model in green. Paid $33,500 for it.

Improved Clarity discounts are finally showing up online, including lease deals. Just be aware if you are leasing that some Honda dealers are still offering lease deals that are above the factory lease price! Here is a list of EV lease deals nationwide: http://ev-vin.blogspot.com/2018/01/curr ... ug-in.html

If you go to cars.com, you can see that there are at some 2,700 Clarity's in the cars.com published inventory. The actual inventory is probably higher because dealers don't list all of their inventory on cars.com so shop around if you don't get a good price initially. You can always buy the car from anywhere in the country and have it shipped to you if your local dealer does not offer a competitive price.

Most dealer won't give me a price over email/internet. 1 place did give me a price of about $33000 for a touring. That does seems too good to be true. Another dealer gave me a price that is close to msrp.

I bought my Clarity Touring 2 weeks ago. The dealership gave me $250 credit and said Honda was giving a $2000 credit. After listing the accessories I wanted, they came down an additional $150. I negotiated $150 more to get the monthly payment where I wanted it to be. I live in Western NY.

Did the dealer include your NY state $1,700 EV rebate in the $2,000 discount? Did they tell you about the NYSERDA program?

$2000 credit from Honda... Hmm. I don't see that listed on their website. You would expect honda to have that posted some potential buyer would know...

I received the $1700 off of the price also. The $2000 may have been from the dealership and the $250 from Honda or vice versa. I don't remember which one but I was happy when they gave me the price. I thought there might not be much wiggle room so an additional $2250 was great. I was also happy they marked the accessories down a bit because there is an additional charge for installation which I was not aware of. The cars come with the standard specs and all of the accessories are added at the dealership so there is an extra charge for labor.
