Tint or one-way film for trunk window?

I saw a Clarity PHEV last night which had a very dark trunk window. I don't know whether they blocked it, dark tint, or something else.

Has anyone tried this? Tips?

In another post I lamented the trunk window can illuminate the trunk area, making it easy for the bad guys to decide to shop from your car.

I was going to post that as a suggestion, but no personal experience

If it were me, I'd give something like this a shot. No glue and removable:

Not sure if you were thinking of doing both the clear back seat window and the tinted portion on the trunk, but that would offer the most privacy.

I think I will try "one way" film on the trunk window first. I haven't experimented with whether I need to be able to look out through that viewport while driving.

Thanks.

Really enjoy the car, want a "real" trunk. For instance, to keep charging cables :-) . I was truly surprised to come back to the car one day with the sun shining through the trunk window fully illuminating what was inside..

Does the PHEV have a trunk window? I've seen (must be two different) PHEVs on the roads, and it doesn't seem like the rear window (trunk window) is see through. Maybe tinting/obscuring the trunk window is something the dealer's are doing as an add-on?

Just picked up my BEV from the dealer. I could not see through the trunk window and it looked "frosted". Took a better look when I got home and there was a plastic sheet stuck on. I'm guessing it wasn't removed during PDI. Peeled it off and it's clear as day now!
