Driver Assist Camera Temporary Overheat Message

Got an interesting message on the instrument cluster when I started our PHEV this afternoon. Driver Assist System unavailable because camera was too hot. It isn't the first time it's happened but was able to take a snap shot of what the warning looks like. After driving maybe 10 minutes warning ligh...

Re: “EV CHARGE” Mode

We've been driving mostly in hybrid mode, stopped charging at home. When I get the opportunity to charge outside home, I save the charge for my wife to use. But even if I quickly press the Hybrid mode very quickly after starting the car it will eventually deplete some of the EV range. I guess that E...

“EV CHARGE” Mode

Stumbled upon this just yesterday or the day before. When you just start the car and as the indicators are lighting up on the instrument cluster if you hold down the HV button for maybe 1 or 2 seconds instead of just press and release. The usual green “HV” lights up but there is also a white “CHARGE...

Re: When to service/oil change?

Interesting, did you reset everything all at once? With the stay at home order we still have 3 months left to the next service. My wife only drives to work once a week on average now.

Re: PHEV: Fuel Door Getting Stuck/Not Opening.

After the wait notification and progress bar is complete, there is a "Ready" notice. Unfortunately I confirmed it said "Ready" when the door was still stuck closed. It wasn't consistently stuck so I just lived with it. (I did bring it to service attention when it was there for recalls and free first...

Re: When to service/oil change?

Just an FYI, as soon as I reset the tire rotation it said Service Due in 5 Months. Wonder if my wife will be annoyed...

Like a fine wine ripening over time, this stuck door is now extremely rare or dare I say no longer happening. Definitely happy...

Re: When to service/oil change?

I got in the car last Sat evening and it said "Service Due Now" for "1" which is tire rotation. 25,5xx miles because my wife does not notify me exactly when it changes. Rotating at 25,565 mi. Want to keep track of next time. Will be interesting as I have the different service intervals staggered now...

Re: Weird behavior while in Hybrid mode

I actually thought these Claritys have normal automatics. (I haven't gotten a chance to research whether I'm right or wrong yet). I forget what conditions, as my wife drives it mostly, but yes I've noticed at times the engine seems to scream foul while accelerating. Knowing I put in quality oil when...

Re: TPMS sensors acting up

If you don't check the tire pressures, the service technician probably noticed how low they'd become and pumped them high to account for that. It is safer to go higher than it is to drop lower than recommended. In fact some sports cars have a higher pressure to set tires to if going above 100 MPH as...
