Re: Maintenance Mode, for Warming Engine Prior to Oil Change.

Dang that is quite a procedure! Good idea. I've been changing the oil without getting it up to temp. I've just accepted that I wouldn't get as much of the old oil out as I should. I figured that with synthetic oil and the high frequency it calls for oil changes versus miles driven on gas, that the s...

Re: Suggested Improvements

The rear hatch supports need to be stiffer. They work great holding the rear hatch open on level ground. But parked on a driveway which is slanted so rain runs off to the street gutter, the hatch has a tendency to drop closed with the slightest bit of wind or vibration in the car - say when putting ...

Re: Fatigue Related Shifter Concern.

Wow, that is weird. I haven't had anything like that. Closest was when I tried to use brake hold while in R on a steep driveway. Apparently, brake hold only works in D, or perhaps it will work by not letting the car roll forward if you are facing down hill? But a gas station would be pretty level gr...

Re: Tire Rotation per Maintenance Minder.

Yeah it definitely prompts for oil changes prematurely as it seems to request that every time it requests a tire rotation. Good to know that you can just do a rotation, reset that, and then see when the oil is really due.

Re: When to service/oil change?

BTW- The air filter change was easy to do. And now there are a couple youtube videos on it to provide guidance. Cabin filter or engine air filter? Engine air filter. I don't usually bother with the cabin air filter. For years, I had cars that didn't have those. I see very little value in them. As l...

Re: When to service/oil change?

This week it started requesting A1 in 3 weeks. That would put the oil change right at 1 year/10,000 miles. Due to the shutdowns, I haven't put nearly the same pace of miles on it. So it is almost exactly 1 year and 10,000 miles since the last oil change request.

Re: Driver Assist Camera Temporary Overheat Message

Interesting. We can get some pretty hot days in California during the summer. I'm surprised it isn't more tolerant of that and that it had that specific of a diagnosis message.

Re: When to service/oil change?

Yes, I tend to do all of the requested maintenance same day or at least same weekend and then do the reset all listed services option rather than select and clear each item individually.

Re: “EV CHARGE” Mode

I recall reading about it in the owner's manual. IIRC, you can get to it anytime by holding the HV button down. And yes, it is a more aggressive use of the gas engine to both drive the car and charge the battery, not just drive the car. So the motor will continue running while the car is otherwise i...

Re: PHEV: Fuel Door Getting Stuck/Not Opening.

I just noticed something the last 2 times filling up. When I press the fuel door button, the dash changes to display a message "Please wait a moment" along with a fuel icon. A progress bar goes across the screen and then the fuel door pops open. The car must be doing something to prepare for the fue...
