Re: Oregon EV Rebate

Hi all, Heard last week that Honda is updating the Clarity warranty for Oregon to match California. This means that we can get the $2500 OR Rebate. There is a rule that the hybrid warranty had to be over a certain length and some of the original warranty cards/CD's called out Oregon having a shorter...

Re: Regenerative Braking

Remember, just because you press the brake pedal in the Clarity does not mean you are not regenerative braking. As long as you don't 'bottom out' the regen display by pressing the brake to far you are regen braking. Since I know I am going to have to put my foot on the brake at some point I find I a...

Re: Oregon EV Rebate

Thanks for the info, from my initial reading I thought the Clarity PHEV had a large enough battery to qualify for the $2500 rebate. I could be wrong, as always.

Re: HondaLink; two weeks and unable to get it to work

Not that it helps you but my app has been giving me car status fairly consistently since we got the car almost 4 months ago. Every so often it will not refresh but that is the only problem we have seen. Sorry I could not be of any assistance.

Re: Snow tire rim size options

Hi, I should have noticed your user-name a realized we are in the same region(I am in Beaverton) I agree on studs, had them on a previous car and then switched to the studless ice tires (Blizzak / X-Ice). Will never go back to studs, even for a day. The Blizzak's gave me 90% of the bare ice traction...

Re: Snow tire rim size options

Hi, Just remember that the 235/45-17 has about 3 inches less circumference than your stock 18". That means they will being spinning faster than the car expects so when it shows 70mph you will actually be doing around 67mph. Since the TPMS system looks at tire circumference rather than having sensors...

Re: Key slot behind rear headrest?

Hi, The key slot is to open the trunk if the switches do not work. Page 564 in the manual, page 562 is how to open the fuel lid manually and 563 is the charge door. Enjoy your Clarity!

Re: 110v and precondition my cabin

Hi, I am sure they did this since the heater can probably draw 7kW (based on our Bolt) and the 110v can only supply about 1.5kW. Preconditioning for 20 minutes would cost you almost 5 miles of range. It would be nice if they gave us the option to just use up the range to be warm. I really miss the h...

Re: Driving Strategy: When to Use ECO, HV, etc.

I have the opposite problem, having solar at home and charging at work, I tend to think of electricity as free. Does your utility have time-of-use rates? It can save money if your charging uses a lot of your homes power, unlikely I know with the 16kWh battery in the Clarity. WIth our Bolt and Clarit...
